to do and done from Making A Lather

I did a little better last week working on my projects. I have a little more motivation. It does seem to take longer to get the necessities done - dishes, laundry. Our neighbors have mowed 3 times, already. But, I have to get the mower out of the barn and remember how to use it. Not today, though, it is 32 degrees.

Last week's to do:

1. sew rows of improv into a top - done

2. april rsc shine, wonky stars - done
3. quilt sparkle punch - done

4. cut quilted twins mystery -done

Next week's to do

to do tuesday from Making A Lather

Last week's to do
1. start quilted twins mystery
This was an adventure- In all this house of fabric, I couldn't find enough brown or gold for the constants in this mystery quilt. I started looking online for any suitable fabric. I didn't see any that thrilled me. I wasn't going to risk going out. Then, Joann fabric sent a coupon for curbside pick up. hmm. It took 2 attempts, but I found what I wanted. I was very frustrated in the end, but I have the fabric. That is as far as I got.

wonky blocks from Making A Lather

I started these blocks in January from a scrap bundle and an idea I saw on the internet. I worked on them for awhile and then, it came time to decide on a setting and how many I would need. This is where it stalled. At first, I thought I would just make as many blocks as I had scraps, but it is impossible to ever use all the scraps. They just kept reproducing. I stopped at 40, and, tried a few arrangements.

I liked on point the best, but, needed one more block for 41.
Now to sew them ...

scrappy sewing from Making A Lather

I took this project to retreat with me last week. I made another 10 blocks and trimmed all 24 to 8 inches.
The plan is to make until I run out of  the scrap fabric. But, I am getting anxious to see what I want to do with it. I like this layout so far.

I finished the little rug hooking project. This little project was a class in November. that was a class I took in the fall. I am still not comfortable while rug hooking, but, I am trying to build those back and arm muscles up ...

retreat from Making A Lather

Today is a sleep in your own bed retreat here in town. We have a great place to hold the retreat, and, it will be a fundraiser for student scholarships. We each will have a table and are pitching in a soup for food. I am excited to be going, and will have time with my quilting friends.
My theory is that it is a bonus sewing time and I don't plan to work on anything that I have as part of my goals. So, I have reached deep into the ufo closet to find today's  projects.
The ...

scrap bag blocks from Making A Lather

I found another scrap bag, during a new year push to clean the sewing area. It was a wonderful assortment of brights. I decided to start right away with an improv block that I liked on the internet. It was green and the rainbow color for January is green. I was hoping to use the scraps until they were gone, but it might take longer than I thought.

I am using a charm pack for the center. I have just cut willy nilly to create the strings. I am aiming for at least an 8 inch square.

It's a ...
